The meticulously planned sting operation at the camp of the Goat Clan did not come off exactly as anticipated, however, we beelieve we made our point, and all came right in the end. I send this report to you with Bee Happy, who was present through it all.
First Bee Dazzle and her troupe of Fan Dancers began the operation by flying in amongst the Huron harpies. They proceeded to demonstrate a series of provocative dances which the Harpies immediately pronounced significant to their future marriage prospects.
Meanwhile, Gum Bee and his pistol packin’ swarm quietly crawled upon the muskets piled together near the center of the camp and filled the pans with honey.
Bee Witch and a hundred Zom Bees then beegan to circle the camp with ever increasing speed until the buzz of angry bees filled the ears of the Huron and Iroquois warriors with madness. This was the point at which the whole sweet operation came unstuck.
Outdistancing the pursuing Gore Bee and Sore Bee Hind by a country mile, Hawkeye and Chingachgook burst from the forest, and streaked straight through the center of the camp, scattering burning brands from the main campfire in every direction and overturning all the cooking pots. A single scream of "La Longue Carabine!!" rent the air as the two roared on out the other side of the camp heading straight north for the Canadas. A hundred Indians grabbed for their rifles. A hundred rifles blew up upon firing, and in the ensuing pandemonium three wigwams caught on fire. The Huron and Iroquois warriors stormed into the woods in pursuit of Hawkeye and Chingachgook with the entire bee swarm at their heels.
A Great Silence beefell the camp.
The Huron Harpies and the prisoners stood looking at each other across the sodden and smoldering piles of debris. The Head Harpy said softly, "If they think we’re going to clean up this mess, they’re wrong. Very wrong." Solemnly, the Indian maidens turned on their heels and faded into the forest. The heels are now on their own.
She-Who-Tracks-La Longue Carabine gazed northward for a moment and then, shaking her head sadly, motioned to the other captives to follow, and struck the trail south toward home. By the time you receive this message the group should bee about to the ruins of Fort William Henry. Bee looking for them in a few days. They can all use a good bath.
