Hi all,
I recently saw Steven Waddington's new movie, Tarzan and the Lost City. It was very interesting in that he had a complete role reversal, playing a thoroughly rotten scoundrel -- a lying, smarmy, slimy smooth-talking bad apple. Maybe it's because I so completely associate him with our slightly misguided good-guy Duncan that I found he didn't play the baddie nearly as well as he played the hero. Except that his face has filled out in a slightly pugnaceous way.
I knew instantly that it was him in the beginning as the first word out of his mouth was that commanding "Fire", as he and his men shoot the natives.
Speaking of fire, he seems to enjoy playing the torch, though in this case it is the torchER, as in "he who lights things on fire" rather than the torchEE as in "he who is lit on fire". It might be called Duncan's Revenge, in that he sets fire to the natives' village to burn it to the ground and kills a bunch of them along the way.
And it might be noted that he dies with that very same agonizing AAGGGHHH at the very end. Not original. Hope he's not typecast for that particular way of dying!
Here's Steven's filmography.
Cheers,
Sarah
