: I made an audio tape of the movie (yes, I know it's odd but...) because I'm dissecting the music and wanted to hear it without being distracted by WATCHING the movie, which, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't avoid. So I've been listening to the audio and it is so much easier to see -- oops, hear -- exactly why LOTM won the Oscar for best sound. You really can hear amazing amount of detail in the sound. The smallest foostep, breaking twigs, the sounds of fighting including each clang, slash, and grunt. The sound is so good you know what's going on without needing to watch.

Hi Sarah,
I was wondering when someone else would come up with this idea. I work in my car all day long, and after the video came out in the Spring of '93, my friend, Peggie, who along with me camped out at the theater for weeks when it was on the big screen, came up with the idea of making an audio tape of the movie for me to listen to daily while I was out in my car...she thought it only fair since she was at home watching it on video that I at least had all the movie sound riding around with me in my car. THAT IS A TRUE FRIEND :o) JUDY
