Hi Maria,

You can find Uncas' mother in the "Deerslayer".Her name is "Wa-ta-wah" which translates, according to Cooper, to "Hist-o-Hist". Unfortunately Cooper never provided us with any details regarding Wa-ta-wah's death. Maybe Gayle can help us out?
