Hi, Clabair! Thank you SO much for this tidbit. So THAT'S what Uncas is doing?? I have always wondered what the hand gesture over the top of the elk meant. Never realized he could be sprinkling tobacco or anything else...I'm so glad you posted this. One more little sequence becomes clearer to me now!
