Hi, Vita...interesting post, but I have a question for you. If Duncan wanted to impress Cora or was jealous of her attention to Hawkeye, why would he have told a lie that he KNEW she would recognize as such, and thereby destroy any chance he had with her? If he tells his lie because he believes it is in the best interest of the Crown, it makes perfect sense. Which is why he tells Cora when he goes to her later that it was "what HAD to be done and said here." But it surely makes no sense for him to see that Cora is watching him & lie anyway, if her opinion is all he is interested in.

Will you consider this?
