: :First I must say that I love everything that DDL says, does, etc in this film.  But I must also say that the more I watch the film, I develop a strong affection for the soft, yet powerful relationships between Hawkeye, Uncas & Chic.  One scene which touches me is an early scene at the Cameron's cabin, when they are kidding Uncas about marrying and having children.

: The young boy tells Uncas to have a son like him...and Uncas says, no it will make him too old too fast.  Watch Chic's face while Uncas is talking.  His eye quickly dart back & forth from the boy to Uncas...as if he can still see some of the "boy" that Uncas used to be.

: Soft, beautiful symbolism....I think that is the unspoken tenderness that I find so endearing about this film.
