Hi, Ann. Sorry you were disappointed to find out some of the above. My perspective on it is that we can never know what went on in any of these "star" relationships. The tabloids, and the press, in general, are so far off base sometimes as to render anything they print unbelievable. And further, it is none of my business whether or not any relationship with DDL (or any other actor) works in the long run, or not. Heaven knows, it's hard enough for any of us to make a marriage or relationship work. Don't forget there are two sides to every story, and it's easy to say "poor Isabel," when it might have been "poor Daniel." Who knows what went on between them.

Any crazy talk from me regarding Hawkeye, DDL, or anyone else, is just that...crazy talk. Not to be taken seriously in any way. Fantasies to get through the day, as it were. All in all, I don't think I have a right to judge. And even if I were less than enthused with DDL's private life, it doesn't change my respect for his work. I believe Daniel Day-Lewis is the most remarkable actor I've ever seen, and the only thing he owes me or the public is his best performance in each film. Let us remember,too, that Daniel is NOT Hawkeye, or Christy Brown, or Gerry Conlan, but an intensely private man who happens to be an actor.

Maybe he was bitterly unhappy in the last relationship he had, or maybe he caused the unhappiness...I'll never know, but I wish him well in the future. He has certainly given ME many hours of pleasure with his films, and that's all I really have to know.
