Suddenly, when I hear the nearby town names Shenandoah, Tamaqua or the rivers Susquehanna, Schuylkill(all closeby) they bring thoughts of what life might have been like in this area 300 yrs ago. Even the chirping sounds of our local birds have more meaning.

: As a history buff, The Last of the Mohicans is one of, if not the best portrayal of a particular period that I've seen & enjoyed in a motion picture.

: In fact, during our annual trip to the No. Carolina coast this year, we've planned a side excursion to the western part of the state to see for ourselves those gorgeous vistas in the film.

Thank you Ann, I have lived here all my life and could not imagine life anywhere else. I take a lot of pride in WNC and enjoy sharing it. Please join us for the 1999 Gathering in June. I can promise you will not regret it. I personally see to it myself. Ask anyone who joined us this year.

BTW, the scalping thingie was a very good friend of mine Paul Tickle and was only a latex scalp glued on his head with a hair peice on top of that. We had a lot of fun with that.
