One line that has always tickled me:
"He must be tried and hanged just like any other criminal!"
Tried and hanged?? Has the notion of innocent until proven guilty not taken root yet? Isn't this a bit harsh? He's already made up his mind he'll be hanged, why not just dispense with the trial and cut to the chase?
Silly questions, perhaps, but I always wonder when I hear Munro say that line.
