Hi, Kay! Welcome to the bulletin board. If you are new to this site, be sure to look around. There are many pages here, with TONS of info on the movie, the original script, the characters and actors, the history of the era, and more. Also, you must check out the guidebook Rich has written to the filming sites in North Carolina. It is a wonderful book, full of beautiful photos of the locations, and maps/directions to get to each spot.

If you will read some of the past posts on the bulletin board, you may find the answers to many of your questions. We have had lots of discussions about dialog & interpretations of different scenes. If you don't find what you're looking for, post your question, and we will all be glad to share our opinions & feelings with you regarding this terrific movie.

And you will also find that many of the posters here have commented on Alice's leap to her death. It is, indeed, a very moving and powerful scene!

I hope you have fun checking out every one of the great pages Rich & Elaine have put together!
