Hi, Myrrh, and sorry it took me so long to notice your question! I'm guessing that the people who know about such things know (for the most part) who has which type of period weapons, the word goes out and the ones who need to borrow them get them. I'm going to see Nick in a few weeks, and I'll ask him the specifics. That pistol is now in a museum in Tennessee.
