Though my world tilted slightly upon hearing some of these revelations, my feet are so firmly planted in the Mohican Mystique as to render all such observations totally harmless!  I hope that most of the readers here will enjoy each little tidbit posted as much as I do.  All it does is point out what a very difficult job it is to produce a first-rate historically-based film...something Michael Mann managed to do quite successfully, inconsistencies not withstanding. (Any other film subjected to this type of scrutiny would surely reveal many more errors and anacronisms.) It is a triumph of film-making that we fans can maintain this intense interest level regarding every aspect of this movie five years after its release.  I say, hooray for each and every detail we lovingly examine, even the one or two with warts!
