I have been away for a awhile so its been fun coming back and reading everyone's posts. When I see the LOTM again it will be like seeing it for the first time. Lots to watch out for. However one thing that does not feel right in the movie (and I know alot of you are going to disagree with me) is the relationship between Alice and Uncas. Or should I say the "sorta relationship" between them. I mean they didn't hardly even say two words to each other. The only time I remember Alice speaking to him was when she was upset about him running the horses off. Also while Uncas may have been fascinated by her she hardly acknowledged him. When she and Cora were on horseback leaving the fort after the surrender Cora was looking back every few seconds to try to catch a glimpse of Hawkeye while Alice didn't glance back once to find Uncas. It was only when she was about to fall to her death that I saw any realization in her eyes that Uncas really existed. Also I felt that she was too much of a wimpy girl for a guy like Uncas to care about. While Cora had moxy and was not afraid of the frontier, Alice looked entirely too fragile physically and emotionally for a life on the wild frontier. I just couldn't see Uncas going back to live in London with her. Their relationship just didn't ring true like Cora and DDL's. Maybe it isn't fair to compare the two but it is such an obvious contrast. Any thoughts? Lynne
