Not a documentary

Enough about historic accuracy! It wasn't meant to be a documentary. If it was we wouldn't love it so much!! The book was even worse as a historic reference and the earlier movies were a joke! I have the 1920's silent version in my collection and it is a HOOT! Magua was played by,of all people!, Wallace Beery! Hawkeye was some unknown, who was so scared of the flash from "KillDeer" he closed his eyes and buried his face in his shoulder when he fired, and Cora was in love with Uncas (who was the romantic lead). So the movie wasn't perfect, but it's as close as you're gonna get.
