Browsing the web on one subject you come upon something else....you know how it is. Found, quite by accident, a rather scathing evaluation of Cooper's literary prose and accuracy. I have to quite agree with this person....and in doing so.....have to say that Mann probably corrected MANY inaccuracies, far-fetched impossibilities, unrealistic characterizations, and did far more justice to the tail than did Cooper. Mann made it more believable, more understandable, and eliminated the inaccuracies and bad prose. Good for him!
