Myrrh...I don't know about "pleasing to the ear" but the sounds that impress ME the most during the movie are the horrible "thwacks" from the war clubs & tomahawks, and the sort of "zing" sound of knives (as in slicing hamstrings & removing scalps!) Pretty realistic! Of course, if you don't have access to good sound equipment, you lose some of those, as I found out watching my video on my parents' small screen non-stereo tv...so some folks may not even be aware of what an important part sound DID play in this movie.
