: Howdy!  My grandmother used to say, "It's never too early..." (she said that about almost everything!)...so with that thought in mind, we have begun to lay out some tentative plans for our SECOND Annual Gathering of Mohican Maniacs.  Myrrh Sagrada and I have volunteered to co-coordinate things (we're obviously gluttons for punishment!) and will be looking forward to input from all of you.  There will be a lot of stuff you can get involved with at many levels, if you would like to participate in putting this event together.  If nothing else, please share your suggestions with us.

: Here is a brief outline of what we have come up with so far:

: We know from our own feelings & those that we have heard expressed by others that the event needs to be a little bit longer...so, we are planning a 3-day Gathering for next year.  The dates we have pretty much settled on (as per the Park's availability) are Friday, June 11 through Sunday, June 13.  The breakdown of Happenings, as currently envisioned, would be as follows:

: Friday would be Display/Seminar Day.  We are hoping to be able to set up a display room on Thursday (before everyone arrives) that can be left up throughout the event.  That way, you will be able to browse through the photos and articles much more leisurely.  I know I didn't get nearly enough time to read and look at everything I wanted to.  We are hoping to get a couple of volunteers to do a brief presentation or two on various topics, for those who might be interested in attending. We may have access to a tv/vcr so that a discussion session on various movie scenes could be held, with much stopping/starting/slo-mo, of course.  Maybe we can get one of our weaponry experts to discuss war clubs, long rifles, etc.  This is just in the formation stages, of course, but that's what we hope to have for you on Friday.  

: Saturday would still be our day in the park, naturally, and we will be working closely with CRP to make that a great day again.  Saturday night would be our big screen viewing of the film, and though it was pretty funny in retrospect, we aren't planning to see Hawkeye & Cora standing on their heads and speaking in tongues.  

: Sunday would again be a day of field trips to other sites.  Sunday night, we would like to have a closing ceremony/dinner/bonfire type event that would give us a real opportunity to talk about our adventure and say our goodbyes properly.  

: Be thinking of what you might have to bring along, present, share with others, so that we can make our display area a lot of fun.  And please email Myrrh or me with any thoughts or suggestions you have.  Nothing is written in concrete at this stage, so now is the time to speak up if you have some good ideas.  

: As for myself, I simply cannot WAIT to see you all again!  Nor to meet the folks who will be coming for the first time.  I'm ready to climb the cliff trail all over again...though I still have a bit more work to do on the HealthRider before I'll truly be ready to tackle Table Rock once more! ;o)
