I thought Dances W/ Wolves was an excellent movie. Of course that little part where that general or whatever he was peed himself and then blew his brains out was kinda off the wall but other than that I thought it was very nicely done.
It Showed the side of American Indians that usually isn't seen. And for a white man to have his opinion about Indians change for the better is a good thing. It also showed, in the last section of the movie, how ignorant,arrogant and thoughtless the rest of the white men were. I thought it was appropriate for Kevin Costner to find a white women to marry, sticking to his own kind.
The more I learn about the history of the American Indians and black slaves, the more i am ashamed of the white race. I am just happy that my family didn't arrive in the U.S. until the beginning of this century and hopefully didn't have any involvement in the misery of others. Our government is still abusing the rights of our Native people but at least views are changing and people are being educated.
