: here's my two cents worth : DDL is good in the role as he usually is.  i was REALLY impressed by his gazelle-light sure-footedness and thought he made it look like he had really been brought up by indians.  i've always liked madeline stowe too (anyone caught 12 Monkeys? good tragic tale), she is quite beautiful isn't she?

: when i first watched the movie, i was rooting all the way for hawkeye and cora.  when she dumped the major for hawkeye, i thought that was the way to go!  the uncas/alice thngy just crept up on me unawares;  such that in the end when uncas's gives his life to save alice, it is one of those moments of truth, a confirmation of their love.

: i think what i disliked most is that poster of DDL holding stowe (she is facing us) and looking away.  if that was a scene from the movie, it had a context.  but as a poster, yucks!  he comes across as being so aloof from her.
