How about when Nathaniel says "'Bout done holdin' hands with Miss Munro?" Judging from Unca's smile, he's used to Nathaniel's quick wit and sarcasm and doesn't mind the gentle teasing. (Though the remark seems more for Cora's benefit than Uncas!)

I also like during the Massacre when Ching. is running towards the front of the line and a Huron gives a whoop and comes after him. Nathaniel shoots the would-be attacker and Ching doesn't even flinch. I seem to remember Nathaniel covering Ching on the cliffs as he readies to confront Magua.
