: there is something that on my viewings, that makes me wonder, when, at the Huron Village; when the Great Sachem sends all of our characters off to their fate; when Alice is taken up the path, an Indian draws a knife. Up, after they have climbed, on the ledge of the path, after Uncas has met his fate at the hands of Magua, as Alice steps towards the edge, Magua still is shown, displaying his knife (which slowly draws it back)....well, now, does the first brave think Alice will run off in the village? Does Magua think the knife will get Alice to come to his bekon?? Does anyone have any thoughts on this??? Just a thought...

Jo, you have a definite knack for complicating an issue!! :)

The Magua part is easy (I think) ... he still had the knife in his hand from his little whittling expo done on Uncas. I think that he lowered the knife to PREVENT Alice from taking her plunge.

As for the other warrior ... Do you mean while IN the village? I'm trying to visualize the scene, but can't. The village was close to bedlam at that point. He could have drawn the knife for any number of reasons. Any guesses?

So, how's the horse?
