Magua and friends

Playset aside, there is something that on my viewings, that makes me wonder, when, at the Huron Village; when the Great Sachem sends all of our characters off to their fate; when Alice is taken up the path, an Indian draws a knife. Up, after they have climbed, on the ledge of the path, after Uncas has met his fate at the hands of Magua, as Alice steps towards the edge, Magua still is shown, displaying his knife (which slowly draws it back)....well, now, does the first brave think Alice will run off in the village? Does Magua think the knife will get Alice to come to his bekon?? Does anyone have any thoughts on this??? Just a thought...
