Dear She-etc.,

I apologize for the delay in sending your order to Vanderheyden's. There is a war party up and down the frontier. Things were done. Nobody was spared. Our Mohican courier refused to make a run for it through the Huron's gauntlet. As soon as Le Longue Carabine subdues the warring rascals we'll have your foodstuff on its way.

I hope you understand our reluctance to risk your order. Perhaps you can have the other paddle refurbished as well? It would give you something to do while you await the arrival of your order.

Again, I apologize for the delay and will toss in an extra sack of Fine Ground Corn Meal.
