: : Hey Gang, I'm catching up on some old postings and haven't read a word about how people felt about "Titanic", ...
: Good to see you back here, Kiki. Kiki, for those who don't remember, planted the seeds for our Director's Cut push way back when.
: Believe it or not, I haven't even seen Titanic, but there WAS a thread a couple of months ago discussing this film. I believe it's still there ... DDL vs Leonardo? NO comparision. Your assessment hits the nail on the head!!
LOTM has been my favorite movie since it opened and I will always love it. I have posted here in the past. It may make me unpopular here, but I have to say that Mohicans has been bumped into second place in my book. Nothing, NOTHING I have seen on the big screen has ever done for me what Titanic has. It lifts your heart and then tears it out and stomps on it, and then it patches your heart back together again. Titanic has artistic merit in many ways, but that aside, I don't believe any movie has ever made people FEEL, the way Titanic has. Kate Winslet is fascinating. DiCaprio himself is beautiful and thrilling to watch (and I haven't been a teen for 10 years1)I've seen Mohicans about 7 times on video, once in theatre. I've seen Titanic 5 times and intend to own the video. However, Mohicans will always have a place in my heart. (And IT didn't cost 200 million!)
