Hey Gang, I'm catching up on some old postings and haven't read a word about how people felt about "Titanic", so I thought I'd throw this in as something to muse over. Five and a half after it's initial release and I still haven't gotten tired of LOTM, although I no longer watch it as often as I used to (I don't want to get burned out like I have with some of my other favorites). Which leads me to one of the top grossing films of all time, "Titanic". I did enjoy the film in the theater, and I would like to see it once more before it leaves (probably sometime in November!) but I don't feel the urgency to see "Titanic" again and again like I did with LOTM. I believe that many of the people who have seen James Cameron's epic multiple times are under 18, due to the popularity of Leonardo DiCaprio. What breaks my heart is if you compare the two historic films, I think many of us would agree that LOTM beats "Titanic" hands down, and yet LOTM was hardly noticed while "Titanic" stole the Academy's! So let's compare apples to apples. I think that DDL is a superb actor who deserves more recognition than he gets while I feel Leonardo gets more recognition than he deserves. I do love James Horner's soundtrack for Titanic, and I also loved all the secondary characters. Yet, all in all, LOTM is still number 1 in my book. So, what say you out there?
