Hi, Chris...
Well, you KNOW I've seen most of DDL's films, and we've already discussed the pros and cons of Age of Innocence which I love (and I think you did, too). I don't think you can go too far astray with the rest of his movies, either. My Left Foot, and In The Name of the Father, if you're in the mood for inspiration; The Crucible, if you are in the mood for DARK drama; and one of my all around favorite movies, in which DDL's part is not large, but IS very well-done is Room With A View, if you're in the mood for a lovely Victorian story with the incomparable Maggie Smith and the beautiful Helena Bonham-Carter (whom my son calls the poster child of chick-flicks!)It is a gorgeous production with a "swimming hole" scene you won't likely forget! Hilarious! Madeleine...I'm afraid to say that I didn't find Unlawful Entry as horrible as R & E did, but it is a pretty formulaic psycho film. I've only ever seen S. Waddington in one other movie about Christopher Columbus & I didn't see all of that, but don't think it was a big part. Jodhi did a film set in Africa with Barbara Hershey that was quite good, I thought, but the name eludes me. (Help, someone.) Myrrh can give you some thoughts on Eric's films, as the only other thing I've only seen him in was Squanto, which is a Disney film & not so great, in my opinion. I personally liked Wes in Geronimo, though I didn't think it was a "great" film. I DID think it was interesting, and worth watching. (If you can get by Jason Patric's wooden performance...I think that's his name.) I've not seen Russell Means in anything else, either, though I love his voice in Pocahontas. Those are my best recommendations. Help Chris out here, guys, with some of your own favorites. We don't want her to have to work out to LOM over and over and over...!
