: Thanks to Tiget for bringing up this scene. It's one of my favorites, too.

: I've always thought it was a beautiful, graceful scene -- and that's a bit odd, considering the subject matter!

: I'm awed by the physical movements of Hawkeye and Uncas as they raise their rifles and take aim, in relay, one smoothly following the other (watch closely as Uncas, at first standing with his back to the battlement, gracefully swings round and to one knee aside Hawkeye -- it's gorgeous, like a ballet). The handing of the rifles back to be reloaded, the next readied rifle immediately placed in their grip. There's intense force and concentration there, but fluid movement too. The meshing of grace with such intensity fascinates me. The scene is about violence, but it's also a scene about pin-point focus, about exquisite inner balance entwined with intense determination -- the two brothers knowing each other so well that they can work together like this seamlessly.

: I could go on (and on!), but I'd like to hear from others their reaction to this scene.
: (How about some of you folks we haven't heard from for a while? Come on back!)

Wow, I am glad to see that this scene had as much affect on other people as it did on me. I really think this scene is great, and I wish I could just express my feelings about it as well as you did!
Love Tiget!!
