I agree that the portrayal of Uncas and Alice's relationship was just about perfect, although I would like to have seen just a COUPLE more "looks" or some other such subtle exchanges. Maybe even one would have cemented it for me.

As it was, the way Michael Mann chose to present their love was perfect... very sweet. If it had followed the script, I believe it would have been way too heavy-handed.

In fact, I have to say I agree with every change I've become aware of between script and final film. I think Michael Mann is a master filmmaker. This film flows incredibly beautifully.
