Here we are in complete agreement. I also feel 95% of the "language" (and you know which language I mean) is overused and loses all meaningful impact as a result. I am not offended by swearing when it fits the scene to perfection...those times when any of us would be pushed to the point of raving madly (the airport car rental scene in Planes, Trains & Automobiles comes to mind...hilarious!) but to use it as incessantly as some films do just drives me up the wall. As my grandmother used to say, it's a sign of a poor vocabulary.
