: : Hi, Ros! So glad you decided to post. Now everyone will be able to get to know you. Good for you, re-reading LOTM. I've never been able to finish it. Some of us here love the movie, some the book, and some love both. I am pretty much a fan of the film, myself.
: : Folks, Ros has done a LOT of traveling in the southwest, cruising along on her Harley. It will be great fun to hear some of her adventures when we meet in June. Keep us posted on your progress with the book, Ros.

: Welcome Ros,
: So glad to hear we have another fellow nurse comming to the gathering. I have seen the movie and love it. I think reading the book would be nice, I think I might try it, sometimes the book gives better detail than the movie does. Any comments from anyone who has read the book would be welcome. Is it just as good as the movie.

Hi Betty,
I loved the book! I did my senior English thesis in high school(Bill's not the only preppie here) on LOTM and The Deerslayer. Even managed to sucker my mother into typing it for me. Cooper's writing style is rather flowery and can be difficult to get into. I have to admit I'm probably one of the 10 people in the country that actually enjoyed reading his books. The book does give more detail and some things are different in the book than in the movie. Comparisons of the book and the film are on this site somewhere. It definitely is not "light" reading, but is worth a try. Go for it!
