: Elaine,

: *snort...grunt....snork!...yawn: waking up after looonnnggg nap and tripping over beard as he gets up....where the heck did the nine-pin players go????*

: Thanks for that research yesterday on the Mohican/Moravian connection. Anything more you find out would be of interest.
: So Tschoop was his Mohican name? Sounded so germanic thought it was his Moravian name. Where do you come up with these historical facts anyways Lainey? You must be tripping over books all the time.....historical treatises, journals, language guides and all.....

Bill,
You're welcome. (Thanks for the 'tip'!) I'll let you know anything more I find out about Tschoop/Uncas. Carol's looking in to it also. We'll most likely work it into the Musings at some point. Tschoop was his Mohican name, yes. The Germanic sound is typical for Algonquian languages. They all have a lot of guttural
phonetics. In Delaware, when you see the letter 'X', pronounce it like a German 'nacht'.

Anyway, yes...... tripping over all sorts of books here. We have more books than furniture! And we did come from New York, remember?

So, Bill, would you prefer to share the life of Rip Van Winkle or Ichabod Crane?

Elaine
