I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Bill and Rich for a GREAT history lesson, too. Though I'm currently studying history at university this was the best lecture on F&I wars I ever had. Thanks guys!

I think I was trying to find some mysterious 'hidden agenda', though there was none in LOTM. This 'French thing' was probably just Mann's attempt to be historically correct. Thank you again for giving me this perspective. Now I can finally rest...:)
