A question which my high school son posed to ole dad: What was the inscription on the barrel of Natty Bumppos rifle? This may be noted in The Prairie but the rifle was probably used in ".. Mohicans" so it may be germane to this discussion group. I've looked everywhere then found this forum. Can you help ??? Thanks in advance.
