Hi, BDavis! Thanks for the lovely descriptions of Chimney Rock Park. I have made 4 trips there, and am eagerly awaiting my next opportunity to go back. It is a truly beautiful spot, even if you aren't a Mohican Maniac (such as I am!) The first time I went, my daughter and I were pretty much alone on the cliff trail, and we had a good time "reenacting" scenes from the movie at every spot we recognized. I especially had a good time rolling around on the rock where Uncas & Magua have their fight to the death.

There are several vantage points along the trail where you simply have to sit down, stare out over the valley below, and wonder what must it have looked like long before it was "discovered" and the building began. And the view across Lake Lure is just beautiful. This is a 4-star attraction, folks!
