: Food for thought, maybe Mann didn't include the love scene (that was obviously shot;}!) because perhaps Jodhi's Mom didn't know about it? If that was the case, he may have been afraid of the repercutions of leaving such a scene in, being that she was a minor. I say this because I read that for SHAKESPEARE'S ROMEO AND JULIET that Clare Danes had to be clothed for the love scene because she was a minor and Dicaprio was over 18.
: Any thoughts?

Hmmmm....Heather, the first thing that pops into my mind is Jodi Foster (another Jodi!) in Taxi Driver. My god, she was only 12 or something, wasn't she? Look what she was subjected to in that story! And what about Linda (can't remember her name!) in The Exorcist? Has Hollywood recently come up with new rules for minors? Does anyone know out there?
I am REALLY curious now about this under-the-falls love scene. Eric says it was filmed (and it was "deep"!); Connie says they tried to film it but Eric was too nervous; and there are other indications (can't recall from where) that it never got filmed. I hope we get some answers to this mystery sometime!
I agree that that missing "look" you refer to would have bolstered their love story, and should have been included (but maybe it came out looking clumsy or dorky or something, who knows? - the slow-mo as he pulls her back from the edge was really beautiful, I thought!).
But if that love scene WAS filmed, and WAS "deep", well then.....I am dying to see it!
