Another line that irks

Hi Guys,
This is going to sound kinda petty but there is another line in the film that irks me. It just doesn't sound right to my ears. Remember after the amubush when Hawk et al saves the trio from Magua the first time and Duncan mentions they are heading to the fort. Well after the smirk, Hawk talks to Ching in his language and then says to the trio "we'll take you as far as the fort." My gripe is what is this "as far as"? I mean, that was their final destination anyway so why does he even have to say "as far as"?

It wasn't as if they said they were going to the fort and Hawk said "we'll take you as far as the next fork in the road or the next waterfall on your right or the next burial ground etc." You guys see what I mean. Or am I just being very petty? Lines like that aggravate me sometimes. They just don't fit in the flow! Lynne
