: Yup...it's almost like she "shoves" her captor away, and thinks to herself, "Aw, Man! Now he's gonna kill the ONLY one on MY side!" A lot of mention has been made here of the looks that pass across Magua's face before & after Alice goes "over the edge" figuratively & literally, but I am always amazed at the looks that cross *her* face. She steps out on that precipice so locked up in her own misery & fear, then, after looking down towards Uncas, turns back to gaze at Magua. She has made her decision, and her eyes are filled with utter peace. Fear has been replaced by a calm, serene glow & she steps out to follow Uncas. A terrific bit of acting on the part of Jodhi May, if you ask me. Does anyone have any information on what *she's* up to these days?

I know that ya'll are right. It just that when I saw the movie in the theaters (and drooled over Eric Schweig), I was so involved with the characters and the romance between Uncas and Alice, that it killed me to see her stand there while he died. I know that it's a movie and all, and I know that her character was very indecisive and somewhat hopeless at the end. In fact, I don't know if ya'll talked about this but they really treated her like a weakling when she probably could have taken more. Anyway, it killed me to see Uncas die. I know that I couldn't have stood by, but then again, she did look like she had lost all hope. Her attitude was very befitting of her character, I just hate when Uncas dies! But he has too, otherwise there would be no "Last of the Mohicans."
