Is Cora paddling?

Hi Everyone,
Last nite I viewed the THX version of the video (wonderful) and I noticed something I hadn't noticed before on previous viewings. It looked to me when they were escaping across the lake in canoes that in one brief scene Cora was actually paddling and then almost an instant later it showed them about to go over the small fall and Cora was hanging on to both sides of the canoe. I even ran it in slo-mo and she definately looked like she was paddling the canoe.
Am I imagining this or do you think it was just bad editing or maybe she was actually paddling for a second or two? It would certainly be in keeping with her character if she was paddling since she was definately not afraid to do what had to be done i.e. shoot the Huron in the forehead etc...
Also when exactly do you think that DDL and Cora fell in love? I thought it was the glade scene but now I am leaning more toward the "what are you looking at sir"? scene. Also even though the love scene on the battlements was pretty intense I felt their feelings for one another more when she went to visit him in jail. Just the touch of their hands and the tone of their voices conveyed alot of emotion and love between them...Lynne
