: This is a topic of discussion that I had been delving into but last night.  In my opinion, the revolutions may still have taken place, but in a different form.  The American revolution was a colonial bid for independance, it was more or less inevitable (look at the Commonwealth now to see how much of the empire has declared independance).

: Anyway, I'm glad to see someone to keep me company in the early hours of the morning.
