This reunion thing doesn't seem to have sparked too much interest, we may just have to settle for some impromtu get togethers maybe a summer party at Michael and Karen's or if Doc has another Barabaque...I'm trying to meet up with Louie one day in Valley Stream being that both our Moms still live there and we both are there from time to time during the week...Bean

Maybe by using the telly - phone or send flyers in the mail. Some of the folks back east still connect with alot of people. Why not talk with each other. Merry Krankster, you were born with the gift of gab, (me too!) so, other than the computer, which some people are just not interested in using... Oh wait, I have an idea, how about going ahead and setting
a date, and whoever shows up, that
would be great. I like the spontaneous kind of thing - after all,
it was like that in high school - you just went to the Green and you never knew who would show up that day!!

Ditto!!!

We should Keep It Simple Stupid!!!

Maybe, as the time draws nearer & there's a handle on the numbers, we reserve a place for a luncheon ... or dinner ... yeah dinner & tunes. We meet at the Green for a picnic or something earlier. I don't know ... real simple. Then, if it looks like a big gang will show up, we can complicate it some if you like. After all, it's early!

I know 4 folks from Georgia who sure want to come ... Eddie & Teri and Dink & Lil ... maybe Benny & his family.

So ... don't give up yet. The night is young!

Lou - you're in charge! Delegate!

C'mon boys, imagine if Georgie Washington & his motley, rag-tag crew gave up during the winter of '76 instead of attacking Trenton! Where'd we be then?!?

Lou are you going to the car show? I passed up the Javits center last night on my way in to a concert ( to see Local H ) and saw some of the tractor trailer trucks unloading some of the cars...very cool.

Aerosmith's BIG 10 Inch...we're talking about a 10 inch EP record, not POLES !!!
"Got me the strangest woman
believe me this trick's no cinch
but I really get her going
when I whip out my big 10 inch

record of a band that plays the blues
well a band that plays its blues
she just love my big 10 inch
record of her favorite blues

last night I tried to tease her
I gave my love a little pinch
she said now stop that jivin'
now whip out your big 10 inch

record of a band that plays those blues
well a band that plays the blues
she just loves my big 10 inch
record of her favorite blues

I, I, I cover her with kisses
and when we're in a lover's clinch
she gets all excited
when she begs for my big 10 inch

record of a band that plays those blues
well a band that plays the blues
she just love my big 10 inch
record of her favorite blues

my girl don't go for smokin'
and liquor just make her flinch
seems she don't go for nothin'
'cept for my big 10 inch

record of a band that plays the blues
band that play the blues
she just love my big 10 inch
record of her favorite blues "

Ok Ok I'll do it! But I still say we need a 'place' of some sort, like a hall or a park (Bar-B-Q of sorts). If anyone wants to make side trips to the Green, fine, we can all do that later but we need a place to 'land' and most importantly...to eat!

Finally after all these years someone agreed that I have a good idea ! Now only if all of you would have listned to me years ago we might have been famous (rich and/or probably dead ) rock stars today, after all we were years ahead of the punk, grunge and alternative eras...Bean

Not Likely Bean...more to the point: if we had listened to you all those years ago we probably would have wound up on VH1's "Where are they now?" More like The Rock n' Roll Hall of Shame than The Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame!

Lou, I thought we already are in the where are they now catagory...I still say we wold have been famous by now, but more than likely dead..and I still haven't given up my quest for rock n roll stardom, I'm currently searching for a band or people to start up band in the NYC area..I have ads in the voice and on the internet, and in clubs in the city...I have seen so many of these newer bands who are doing well all across the country and I know I could put together if not as good a better band than any of them, I just need a few people of a mindset like mine to collaborate in songwriting, playing and most of all passion...talent is an asset but not required...there more great bands that never make it out of their garage or basement than their are so so bands who are becoming famous, much more believe me. My goal is not even so much to become infamous again but rather to have fun and cause chaos all in the name of rock n roll the way it was meant to be.

Rock N' Roll is dead. Haven't you noticed that nothing substantive has happened in over 30 years!!?? There's been lots of great music, sure...and more to come. But nothing NEW has happened. It's all been derivative reinterpretations for the last three decades. This shouldn't surprise anyone. All music forms hit their respective 'walls' eventually. All things end, nothing is forever. Classical music isn't being written anymore because Beethoven and Mozart and the others did all that could be done with the genre. Rock doesn't have to dissappear to order to 'die'. It just needs to keep repeating itself and to stop progressing. Look at the changes and the progress that Rock went through from 1964 ( I Wanna Hold Your Hand; Please Mr. Postman; Splish Splash I was Takin' a Bath )to 1967 ( A Day in The Life; Are You Experienced?; White Room.... That was only a span of THREE YEARS! Show me something even slightly comparable to that much progress in the last THIRTY THREE years! You can't. Heavy Metal for example, has spent the last three decades copying Led Zepplin over and over again. Pretty shamelessly in some cases I might add. Then in the eighties a whole decade was wasted with that rehash of Mersey Beat sound called New Wave. New Wave turned out to be neither new nor a wave just old melodies with 80's electronic production values. Punk was interesting, but hardly anything new. Lou Reed was doing Punk in 1964 and Lennon did Rock minimalism in 1970 with his 'John Lennon - Plastic Ono Band' album! Regaee is interesting, but again The Beatles did a Skaa song (the predecessor to Regaee) called "I'm Down" in 1965. Then there are The Stones...they haven't made a 'new' album since 1971. They just keep making the same one over and over again! What I liked best about Rock was it's experimentation and innovation. I lived through it's Golden Age and I consider myself lucky to have done so. But it's over. I don't know what will be next but I hope I'm alive to see it! All I do know is that it won't come from Rock and that I'll know it when I see it...if I live that long, that is! I have no interest in Rock anymore because there is no Rock to be interested in. I do, however have my memories and the 'old' tunes never get old with me. I'd much rather listen to the old stuff than modern rehashed copies. I rather do without than settle.

Lou...some valid points to say the least but you can't just give up, that's a sure sign you're getting old and to quote our old musical hero Neil Young...It's better to burn out than fade away, or my my hey hey rock and roll will never die...
Rust never sleeps...a Rusty Bean that a little WD40 couldn't fix and be as good or better than new !

Saw the White Stripes last night,,,a definite rehash of the Blues mixed in with some ultra noisey garage/grunge sounding feedback....but get this Loretta Lynn the Queen of Country Music next to Lucinda Williams that is opened up the show and they even did some songs together !

" PLAY LOUD "...the Plastic Ono Band Signature on the Apple label...! I still love that!
