Brothers and sisters. Remember John and Yoko sitting in bed.... John saying "Violence begets Violence"

What are you hoping to accomplish by bombing the poor Iraqi people into oblivion? It's just Bush coming to the aid of his pathetic father in his twisted macho deluded mind.

We were all devastated by 9/11 I'm sure. In many deep and personal ways. I supose it is natural to want to strike out.
This does not seem to be the way to cure this problem. How about some honest face to face dialogue?
We all want the same things. To live happily in peace and security. Let's think about the best way to accomplish this. I don't think bombs and detruction is part of the solution. It will only bring about more negative conditions.
Peace :-)

Well, I'm not sure who Moon9 is, but anyone with 9 is ok with me. Being a Gemini, I kinda have one boot on each side of the fence. If I believe that we had no hand in 9/11 then I say nuke the bastards. However, when I think about Janet Reno's decision in July 2001 to stop taking commercial airlines, and Cheyneys same decision in August, it makes my stomach twist in a knot and I'd say it's time to pray. There is something interesting about Bob Woods, the actor. It seems he took a flight over that summer, with 4 of the terrorists. I guess they were doing a test run. The flight crew and a number of passengers including Woods filed a complaint about the suspicious behavior of the four. The powers that be were notified, but the complaint was dismissed and nobody checked it out. Woods has stated that he has been "urged" to shut the Fup about it. (c)

Moonhaze9 was ( & still is ) a very close friend of mine who I will alawys consider myself better off for having known him...besides he was a founding original member and lead guitarist for what may have been the first Grunge PunK Band years ahead of their time...FTW...and previoulsy to that was the amazing Ginger Bakerish, John Bonzoish drummer behind some of the best hard rocking blues bands I have ever heard from Gibbous to Eat Dog !!!
Anyway God and anyone who knows or knew me knows that John Lennon was one of my biggest idols and heroes of all time and that I was an activist for Peace (& Revolution ) as much if not more than anyone, and maybe striking out at Iraq is not the right thing to do but after 9-11 we have to do something, and you can't fight those of who have no regard for life and no regard for morals, and no regard for anything with logical or peaceful means...unfortunately and sadly there sometimes comes a time where fierce agressivness is the only way to stop a bully...OK so Iraq is not directly responsible for 9-11 and I use the word directly but indirectly we all know they support, nourish and harbor terrorism, that if not already. and not now, will sooner or later blind side us...My alternative or (if I were king of the forest) to war with Iraq would be not to attack or disarm them instead give them the benifit of the doubt and say OK we believe you but if you're Fcuking with us and lying to us God Help you because if you are and do screw with us with your weapons that you say you do not have you are gonna wish to God we attacked you now in a pre-emptive strike rahter than what we will do to you in retaliation for being attacked...basically what I'm saying is OK we will back off now but if you give us a reason to have to attack you it's gonna be 10 times worse later than now, and then we should stick to our word and if they Fcuk us...give them bloody hell...and I mean no mercy! As for those repsonsible for the already done horrific acts of 9/11 well I say as we hunt them down one by one if need be we give them what they deserve...maybe a reality based TV show called Tool Time for Terrorists where we give them a ride on a table saw, ( Table Saw Justice ) Maybe toos them in to Woodchiipers? or since they like to fly on one way trips with no training or preparation for landing we can strap them on to missles and give them a free one way ride home !

The folks that perpetrated the events of 9-11, the folks that harbor & abet, finance & encorage them - which includes some nations - understand but one language ... cold steel rammed down their throats.

Diplomacy - to them a lark - or lobbing a cruise missile or two, only further emboldens them. September 11 is the result of such thought. Never forget! If we do, it'll happen all over again ... or worse.

In the 60's people took acid to make the world weird. Now the
world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal.

Politics is supposed to be the second oldest profession. I have
come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first.

There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers
exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly
disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and
inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has

As someone who has served in this country's military, albeit in peace time, I can imagine the horrors of wars, and it should always be our last choice. Also, as I have gotten older and seen what this country has done to others and has a history of, I can't say I agree often with many political decisions some of our leaders have made. That being said though, being the most powerful FREE country in the world, we cannot let the protectors and supporters of these terrorists kill thousands of innocent people, especially on our own land.

Where were all these peace protesters on September 12th 2001 and the months shortly after that horrific event? Everyone in this country shortly after 9-11 was on a patriotic high and Bush had a better than 80% approval rating. Don't get me wrong, I am not a Bush supporter but people have short memories and too many people take for granted HOW we got to be FREE!!! Freedom comes at a very high price and my question to all the peace protesters would be; WHAT'S THE ALTERNATIVE?

I don't pretend to know if I'm right or not because it is a complex problem. I'm not sure if using weapons vs. restrictions & embargoes should be the way to go but I just can't help feeling that we need to stand united as Americans in a strong responsible fashion. If not, I fear the next meniacal threat would think of us as over analyzing idiots with no backbone or will, while they continue without impunity.

Ideally, I would like to see the days of covert c.i.a. assasinations, where JUST the proven evildoers and masterminds were eliminated. The only problem with that is Big Brother running amok with all that power would just be too intoxicating for any one group to be responsible for.

How did we get here from there I wonder, as I read some of these politically oppossing viewpoints.

During the Woodstock era I was neither pro or anti anything. I would like to say I was a hippie peace loving freak and for the most part I was. I was too young though to really form any type of legitimate opinion concerning such heavy topics, so I numbed myself.

Today, knowing what I know about our own government, good bad and ugly, (and this country has lots & lots to be ashamed of,) I say a swift response is not only required but is responsible.

Innocent lives will be lost and that truly is the horrific part of all this, but if we want to maintain the quality of life we enjoy now and take for granted too often, then, we need to protect our way of life.
Life is too precious and short.

JUST AN OPINION...

Hello All, Rick here.
I was just looking around the Mail Box, and I went into the political Forum page.
I read all the postings there, and a thought came to me. I don’t normally talk about politics. It usually causes the hair on ones neck to rise. But here goes! Sorry. With all our faults, problems and mistakes that were, and will be made, this is the “greatest” country this Planet has to offer. In my humble opinion!
As some of you guys know, I was in the U.S.Army from 1970 to 1973. I spent a year of that service over in Viet Nam. It changed me, I grew up too fast, I lost some friends that to this day it still haunts me 31years later, and some are known only by the nicknames we had for each other. Homecoming was very lonely except for my family and a close friend or two! War sucks and I know I’m not the first to say so, and won’t be the last.
I don’t care how you feel about this War that this country is involved in, if you’re for it or you’re against it! I don’t care. What I do care about is this Put all your feelings for or against aside and when those boys come home (I pray it will be soon) Welcome them home with open arms and cheers for they are hero’s every one of them! They did the job they were trained to do. They did their best. They will need and deserve all the welcome homes they can get.

Rick

Hey Rickie, Bet you never thought you would hear me agreeing with you on politics...and although I was a war protester during VietNam and toally against that war I was never against people like you who served over there for our country, I'll always be grateful for that. In this case 9/11 changed everything for me and if I could be over there right now fighting or dropping bombs I hate to say it but I would...mind you this does not mean I like or Goerge Bush but I think we have to stand our ground and let the world know that America is not to be fcuked with and if you do there will be hell to pay...
" Paybacks are a bitch "

btw Rick I went to the Welcome Home parade for the Desert Storm troops and I will definitely be there to welcome home our guys back from Iraq.

No I haven't turned in to a War Loving Monger or a " My country Right or Wrong, " ultra right winger...I still hate War ( think most if not all politicians are corrupt liars ) and would much rather every method of peaceful means be attempted first BUT Once I am attacked or feel threatned and scared for my life on my own home turf, well then enough is enough and when I feel it comes down to kill or be killed I am a firm believer in using might and force to the max, at this point ( after 9/11 ) there is no time for games or diplomicy, it's time to go kick some motherfcking ass and let everyone know where our cards lie and what we will and won't stand for and if you do this to us, here's what you can expect back in return...end of story ! -

I also beleive in peoples right to protest or state their opinions no matter what side they are on...of course if you are not a US citizen then maybe you should keep your mouth shut. I think one of our problems which is our own fault is that we make it to easy for any one to get in to this country and then get lost in the system, plus we cater too much to their home customs, and home land way of life, BUT when an Amercican goes to another country we have to adapt to their way of life, customs, language ect.. NO WAR IN ALL OF HUMAN HISTORY WAS EVER FOUGHT FOR ANY REASON OTHER THAN MONEY. Should I say it again?...don't worry I won't. It's always been about some power hungry alpha male leaders dupeing their people into all this crap about a "cause". When all along we're all just fodder for someone else's ambition. That's all its about on BOTH sides of this war. That's all its ever been about. That's all it ever WILL be about. Until the people who follow these "leaders", ON BOTH SIDES, wake up and realize that we're fighting for THEIR wealth and power and not OUR freedom, it'll never stop. Wasn't this half-assed dictator our friend at one time? I remember seeing a smiling Rumsfeld shaking his hand in a photo not too long ago! Whats up with THAT? Dick Cheney owns stock in a Virginia munitions company. Whats up with THAT? And then there's all that delicious oil for our SUV's...eh? There is no excuse for Sept 11 (I was five blocks away when it happened). Forget all that "Holy War" crap from that moron Bin Laden. Its just power and more wealth for him as well. I don't know what the ultimate solution is. I'm not even sure that there is one, but while we're here on this web site doing all this remembering lets not forget something else from the 60's: "Give Peace a Chance"!

"...sorry, have to go now, it's time to give Mother her sponge bath!"

I figured since everyone has put there own view of the war, I might as well let you all know my feelings on what is going on! I still can remember when I tried to enlist in the Navy back in Valley Stream. They sent me to Fort Hamilton in Brooklyn for my physical, after being poked and stuck a doctor came over to me and asked me to follow him. They took me over to a scale and weighed me. They told me that I weighed too much and if I wanted to go into the Navy I needed to loose about 20 pounds. At that point someone from the Marines told me they would take me the way I was… I proceeded to tell him no thanks!
Well that’s my war story but I have the most respect for everyone in our service, and I can still remember the way we treated are people during the Viet Nam war. I have always been ashamed of that time in my life, and feel that even if I think that this war isn’t the right thing, we all still need to make are people know that we support them. For it’s those people out there across the sea that makes are lives of freedom and the right to do and be what we want in life so great! We can all protest the war in whatever way we like. That’s are proactive, its just a small part of what we are all about, but we must all remember the way we felt after 9 –11.
One last thing, if I grew up in a country like Iraq. I probably would not be alive with all the crazy things I did growing up! I’m sure there are a few of you out there that are in the same boat as me!

Ok boys, settle down. When 9/11 happened,I was asked by these Okies, "How do you feel?" I had so many emotions pulling me. All I could say was 'I feel too far away, I should've been there.' There was nothing I could do if I was back home. But I think I met America that day. I have never seen such a transformation in the people, hearts opened. Now,I think that Bush is doing what has to be done. How can Saddam NOT have something to do with Osama. Even if there is a remote possibility that he wasn't,LOOK AT WHAT THIS MAN HAS DONE! We know what value he puts on anyone's life. He tortures & kills his own people. I for one hope to GOD he never gets nukes, or if they are there, we NEED to find them. I don't think Bush is just in a bad mood and decides he wants Iraq gone. If you think about it, that's Saddam and Osama's style. Religious fanatics? No. Narcisistic sociopaths. I think so. Do you fear genius or insanity? Bin Laden is NOT stupid, very very smart to orchestrate 9/11 and elude being found, and we all know Saddam IS insane. Those two are a match made in hell. The war is happening now. It cannot be stopped now.We all don't have to agree with it but let's stand together. Strength is in numbers.

You Make me Dizzy Miss Kizzy...but I agree with you ! and as for Saddam and Ossama having anything to do with each other and 9-11...well the painting on the wall of a plane crashing in to two buildings in one of Saddam's military planning offices that was captured during a raid by our forces says it all for me...if I was Poppye this would be the time I'd say " I've had all I can stands and I can't stands no more " I'd pop open my can of spinach and gulp it down and proceed to kick the living sh1t out of Saddam and his regime until they begged for mercy and then I'd beat them some more to a bloodie raw pulp!

Bush also kills his own people - executions in Texas! He doesn't give a rats ass about the environment, healthcare, jobs, and on and on. Murdering people doesn't solve problems. It doesn't bring about peace. Only pain, suffering, anger. I am pissed when I see people with flags attached to their army tanks, I mean SUVs. So afraid that their freedom will be taken away. In Southern California, I see selfishness, stupidity, and greed all the time.
