I think Bean's right. Artangus must be Artie. Happy Birthday big guy. The last time I saw you, I think it was in Subway next to Hofstra. You were with Pete I think, and Rick & I were getting food to have during my show. I know you saw Rick later at his puter place, how have you been? You should see little Ricky. Except for the eyes, he's all Rick. Check out the bike page on my site. Oh wait, I better go make a site map. You'll get lost in all the purple stuff. That is soooo cool about Tommy and Holly. Get Her in on this board. And, WTF was her maiden name?

I have begged and pleaded for a quarter century, but no Harleys till we're off Long Island. And when that happens, I get my own so junior can ride with Daddy. However, it amazes both of them, when we're doing 65 on the LIE with the windows rolled up, AC on, and Stereo blasting - that I am able to predict an oncoming Honda at 500 feet by the uncanny Electric Hand Mixer sound that all Honda Riceburners make. You can take the girl off the Harley, but you can't take the Harley out of the girl.
As far as the Nun goes, the desciption is very familiar, but the name rings no bells. Rick is now the computer network administrator for Weatherproof Co. in Bay Shore. (They make Al Roker's raincoats) I was going to post a picture of Rick on his first love...the gibson, but the image thingy doesn't work. Nor does the edit or view profile thingy. If you want to email Rick it's RickPyatt@hotmail.com, or Rick@KatRadio9.com if hotmail is full. Rex Jones stays in touch with me. He started a group of medical personnel who fix old guitars and give them to Cancer kids in the hospital. So if anyone has any laying around their attics, basements or garages, check out www.Medtar.com or let me know and I'll get the info. What's Michelle Kubik doing these days? We used to play flute together in Memorial.
See Ya. |

Does Rick have a Harley ? Arthur was telling me the other day that he use to have 2 Shovelheads when he use to ride with Pete Holtz... I don;t recognize the name Michelle Kubik, now if Richies brother Ronnie, or Neils brother Marc Facci get on here they might, Karen Zang or Michael Stankowitz might also since they are a little younger... It's a long story, but in essence Rick pulled me off the Harley and in another direction. However, on my 21st birthday I went down and got my bike lerner's permit, but that night I hooked up with Rick. I remember Arties first Harley. It kept spitting tar all over my flesh. Ahhh.....those were the days. Bye for now.

Hey Beannnnn.... who said I was ready to sell??? I'm not giving up yet! But if I ever do... it's wonderful to know you will give them a good home. Actually, a very dear friend of mine, and someone I was in several bands with is named Jesse Malin. All of a sudden he's all over the radio. He will be on the tonight show March 7 I think. I'm very happy for his success, but while I'm sitting at dreadful work, hearing his beautiful voice on the radio, I can't help but think... what the **** happened to my life??? Anyway.... wanted to talk to Kat for a while.
KAT!! I remember you so very well. I never thought you would know who I was. Were you at Memorial Junior High as well? Memories are flooding back of Mr. Mordorf and Dewey Remismeir (sorry about spelling)I especially remember Mr. Mordoff being terribly concerned about my drug usage. He was so sweet...Took me privatly into his office in the basement and gave me a lovely sermon on the evils of drugs! Ahhh... If I had only listened, maybe I would have done something with my life..... NAAAAAAAAAAAAAH The thing is I always wanted to play flute. As I sat at the tympany I would watch the flute section. There were so many flute players, but I felt if I looked hard enough at one person I could distinguish their unique sound from the rest. You had an absolutely lovely tone! One sad time .... (boo hoo) you and I were waiting at some exit door... I think it was raining outside. I wanted to talk to you so badly about flutes. You didn't want to talk to me so much... You did tell me that you owned a lovely Armstrong. Years later Peter Holze introduced me to his flute teacher (!) Mr. Adrian Tei. I loved that old man...and demanded my parents buy me a flute! We rented a crappy model Bundy or something. Spent many happy years under Mr. Tei's kind tutalage. I later bought a Germeinhardt. Quite heavy and flat. Do you still play at all Kat? Mine is in terrible disrepair, but I crank out a concerto now and then. Oh dear, I've rambled on haven't I? Sorry. I will go now. yes go go go go go
Thank you so very much |

Jeff. how could I forget you? You were one of the coolest people in band. Weren't you and Mary Downs an item the last coupla years at Central? I remember talking to you a lot. If there was a day I didn't, I must have been silently stoned or something. I still play flute, but know I have added a purple ovation bass, and a blonde Rickenbacher bass to the equation. I sold my saxophone a long time ago. I kinda soured on Centrals band the year Mr. Fare died. They brought in Mr. Emig, who was okay, but he wanted to make one of his South flutists first chair in District, so he told me to play baritone sax in district that year. I told him to stuff it, I'd waited six years for first chair, and he could jump in the lake behind central. I just quit everything then.
I never knew Peter played flute, I only hung around with him when we were riding Harleys the year after graduation. Then I met Rick and found out about all Pete's other endeavors.
Rich, you ask about 9Well, for me first of all, you know the Beatles no. 9; then there is the 9 lives a Kat has, (meow), but it was also a fantastic upstate pirate radio station that has a place of honor in the radio world. Lastly, when I was making my website www.KatRadio9.com , a country station in Tennessee already had KatRadio, so...I thought of my favorite number and voila. Also, and not the very least, numerology makes my life path number 9, my soul urge number 9, and a few other of my path numbers 9. I guess I'm 9. (Thanks by the way for giving me another opportunity to shamelessly flash my website. Your check is in the mail.) Jeff, remember Steven Krieg? I had his mom for a number of classes at Hofstra. He married Georgianna from the clarinet section. Do you still hang with or hear from any other Central and Memorial band geeks?(I use the term geek with much warmth, and affection.) Lastly, if you are bored on a Sunday afternoon, check out my radio talk show. It's a local AM station, but we also stream on the web. You can hear me make a fool out of myself. It's a lot of fun, and I have no shame. There are links to listen on my website. I had the original BatGirl from the TV show on a few weeks ago, and before that a neihbor of mine who went transexual. We're biker friendly, and my son isn't allowed to listen till he's 21. It's great finding you here Jeff. Keep posting. |

Thanks Rich....Lord I have ramblin' all on my mind... Just a quick note: Kat.... so kind.... I'm glad you are still playing and adding more instruments daily. Indeed I do remember Steven Krieg...loved him dearly. Used to hang out with him sometimes. He lived next to the fire house off of Rockaway. Great guy. Thanks for reminding me. How on earth do you remember Mary Downs? Yes yes yes, I gave her my ID bracelet even. She gave it back to me not too much later. Oh well. I liked to hang out at her parent's music school. I can't remember a thing about Central's band or orchestra. Don't even remember the director. I was only at Central for 2 years... I remember someone named Mr.Fidler. I don't think we liked each other too much. He did weird things with his neck. Lovely about your radio show. I will try to catch it. Great to find you as well. yeah yeah yeah wooooooooooooooooooooosh |

Hi Jeffrey! Elena Pascuzzi here. I remember what a sweet person you are! Wow, my memory is shot to hell! I am trying to remember teachers at Central. Did you mean Mr. Fiedler? Also do you remember Mr. Shafto from chemistry class? One by one we would ask him if we could be excused and we would go to the lake and get stoned and come back to class. He knew what we were up to and didn't care. Barry Sallows was in that class, but he is the only one I remember. Maybe Joan Monica was in there too. How about Mr. Magro in the English Department. Wow, did I have a crush on him. |

Jeff, Jesse Malin from D'Generation ? I use to go see them all the time if it's the same guy we're talking about, I would hang out with Joey Ramone at the club they owned on St Marks in the 80's and early 90's ( the old Electric Circus )my brain just blanked on the the name it was going by but it's where a lot of my friends bands and Joey's too were playing the Cave Stomp shows. The Smithereen,s, The Independents, ? and the Mysterians, sort of the like what CBGB;s was to punk this was to Garage rock, I see Jesse is doing stuff now with just his name and I have been meaning to go see him...I'll mention to him that we know each other...has he heard of FTW too. Believe it or not Howard Stern and Lou Reed said they heard or read something about us when they were living on LI before they became famous. An back around 1980 or 1981 someone put an add in Rolling Stone looking for any of the members from a band called FTW from NY? now tell me that was a coincidence?
anyway and Kat, Mary Downs, I saw her sister Kathy a few years back, she had turned in to a heavy metal head in the early 90's and was in to Queensryche...
Mr Fiedler, at Memorial, I put limberger or how ever you spell it Cheese in the radiator in his class room once...man did that ever stink and piss him off !
Hi Elena ! Get your Cousin Mike on here !!! and speaking of crushes like yours on Mr. Magro, I had one ( didn't everybody ) on Cheri Miller the health and sex ed teacher...she use to like playing with hair and was one of only a few people I would let touch it...Joanne Scoma was one, I think Karen, and I think you too Elena, right?
Frank
(Sung by The Tramp from Kinks Preservation Act one) Ray D.Davies I'll sing a song about some people you might know They made front pages in the news not long ago But now they're just part of a crowd And I wonder where they all are now.
Where have all the Swinging Londoners gone? Ossie Clark and Mary Quant And what of Christine Keeler, John Stephen and Alvaro, Where on earth did they all go? Mr. Fish and Mr. Chow, Yeah, I wonder where they all are now.
Where are all the Teddy Boys now? Where are all the Teddy Boys now? The Brill Cream boys with D.A.s, Drainpipes and blue suedes, Beatniks with long pullovers on, And coffee bars and Ban the Bomb, Yeah, where have all the Teddy Boys gone? I hope that Arthur Seaton is alright. I hope that Charlie Bubbles had a very pleasant flight, And Jimmy Porter's learned to laugh and smile, And Joe Lampton's learned to live a life of style.
Where are all the angry young men now? Where are all the angry young men now? Barstow and Osborne, Waterhouse and Sillitoe, Where on earth did they all go? And where are all the protest songs? Yes, where have all the angry young men gone.
I wonder what became of all the Rockers and the Mods. I hope they are making it and they've all got stead jobs, Oh but rock and roll still lives on, Yeah, rock and roll still lives on. |
