THE 2 WHITE BUTTONS ARE FROM WHEN I WAS RUNNING THE KINKS SOCIETY IN THE EARLY 70'S THAN CHANGED THE NAME TO THE KINKS APPRECIATION SOCIETY AND EVENTUALLY THE KINKS PRESERVATION SOCIETY. THE GOD SAVE THE KINKS BUTTON BELOW WAS ISSUED BY REPRISE IN 1968 AS PART OF THE "THEN NOW & INBETWEEN" BOX PROMO ALBUM AND ASSORTED OTHER PROMO STUFF, IT THEN WAS GIVEN OUT FREE IN THE LOBBY'S OF THE FILMORE EAST FOR THE OCTOBER 1969 RETURN OF THE KINKS TO AMERICA FOR THE ARTHUR TOUR !

The Kinks: or should I say 'The Beatles, light': a third less filling, a third less satisfying, and a third less talented! |

Bean,
I'm a big Kinks fan. Those buttons are pretty cool, I've got a copy of the GSTK button and the box set! Do you have spares of the Fan club buttons (the white ones)? I'd gladly pay or trade for them.
To the unfortunate one who apparently never heard the Kinks:
YEAH, YEAH, YEAH!
That's so totally heavy, man! The Beatles only approached the Kinks in songwriting and playing ability when McCartney was off stage or out of the studio. And Lennon was too enamored of himself to ever reach his potential as a Beatle. The Beatles were a good pop group, not much more.

David, I don't think I have any more of the buttons left. I'll check though. I had few hundred of the God Save The Kinks ones that I was also giving out for years. I could swear Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes was wearing one on his sleeve last night at a Crowes show in Atlantic City??? Frank |
" You're a misfit Afraid of yourself so you run away and hide You've been a misfit all your life But why don't you join the crowd and come inside You wander round this town Like you've lost your way You had your chance in your day Yet you threw it all away Now you're lost in the crowd Yet, still go your own way " --Ray Davies
" They'll move me up to Muswell Hill tomorrow, Photographs and souvenirs are all I've got, They're gonna try and make me change my way of living, But they'll never make me something that I'm not.
They're putting us in little boxes, No character just uniformity, They're trying to build a computerised community, But they'll never make a zombie out of me. " --Ray Davies
" The days go by and you wish you were a different guy, Different friends and a new set of clothes. You make alterations and affect a new pose, A new house, a new car, a new job, a new nose. But it's superficial and it's only skin deep, Because the voices in your head keep shouting in your sleep. Get back, get back. " --Ray Davies
" I've just had a dream that I never will forget. And I wish I could erase. I was standing on the street with a whole crowd of people And no one knew my name. And I was just another face No one looked at me or touched me Spoke to or acknowledged me. I had no identity or individuality No thoughts of my own, no mind or personality. I was just a no one, a total nonentity " -- Ray Davies
