" You're a misfit Afraid of yourself so you run away and hide You've been a misfit all your life But why don't you join the crowd and come inside You wander round this town Like you've lost your way You had your chance in your day Yet you threw it all away Now you're lost in the crowd Yet, still go your own way " --Ray Davies
" They'll move me up to Muswell Hill tomorrow, Photographs and souvenirs are all I've got, They're gonna try and make me change my way of living, But they'll never make me something that I'm not.
They're putting us in little boxes, No character just uniformity, They're trying to build a computerised community, But they'll never make a zombie out of me. " --Ray Davies
" The days go by and you wish you were a different guy, Different friends and a new set of clothes. You make alterations and affect a new pose, A new house, a new car, a new job, a new nose. But it's superficial and it's only skin deep, Because the voices in your head keep shouting in your sleep. Get back, get back. " --Ray Davies
" I've just had a dream that I never will forget. And I wish I could erase. I was standing on the street with a whole crowd of people And no one knew my name. And I was just another face No one looked at me or touched me Spoke to or acknowledged me. I had no identity or individuality No thoughts of my own, no mind or personality. I was just a no one, a total nonentity " -- Ray Davies

Not sure, Bean. I barely knew him my own self! I'll scan his yearbook pic, one of these days, and post it here. Maybe that will free some cobwebs.

Thanks Richie, btw speaking of departed people is our Trappist Monk friend still alive? When Ray was doing his 20 century Man Story Teller shows their was apart in there where he talks about him, Dave and Pete Quaife all being plugged in to this little green amp, and it reminded me of our first Dust Days in my garage all playing through that one amp that we got from...goddamn it I can't think of his name now I want to say Richard Hessman but he was the other nut job that followed me around down at the green...Bean
Young and Innocnet days...they were great maybe not so innocent...remember our game of cops and robbers at the Green when the real cops showed up and we were pretending to steal your Moms cadillac? ahhhhhhhhh fongul !!!! |

You mean Bill Crawford? I have no idea what he's up to ... last time I saw him he was studying in a seminary in the D.C. area, but a slight hitch had come up, so to speak. He was arrested, in Valley Stream, I believe, for sodomy.

Yeah Bill Crawford, he was some ****ing trip wasn't he...and to hear he was arrested for Sodomy is no suprise...but we do owe him since if not for him and his donated Ampeg amplifier Dust may never have formed and the world & history would not be the same... |

..back in august of '01 i had been visiting dianne searing (mitchell) and went to a surprise b'day party for Bobby caufield given by his girlfriend Kathy at the Rockaway avenue cafe (not sure of the name...across from harpers). I hadn't seen Bobby in years and always used to call him bobby rydell in high school. ....a month later i'm back in the valley on the way to dianne's and rockaway avenue was so different....instead of birthday banners and balloons at the cafe, there were big signs announcing the Robert Caufield Memorium night...it was really strange..he had been an electrician and just happened to be working at the world trade center on the 90th floor i think. Glenn Thompson from valley stream also lost his life that day |
