Doc, Do you mean Skip Batten I think his name was, he was the bass player for the Byrds. I remember seing them a few times, at the Filmore and at Hofstra with the MC5... I still listen to the Untitled album with Chestnut Mare on it, and Byrdmaniax, and Further Along too... " I wanna grow up to be a politician and take over this beautiful world ".... Bean |

Skip played with the New Riders of the Purple Sage after the Byrds, as well. I remember that Hofstra show!!! Weird mix of music, eh? |

I remember 'Chestnut Mare' or I should say that I remember Doc reciting and singing it over and over and over again...He was addicted to that song for what seemed like an eternity!

I remember giving the nickname " Chestnut Mare " to a girl at the Green, does anyone remember her name or who it was? The name Michelle with Blonde hair sort of sticks out in my memory? Bean |

Now if doc the factman knows the answer to the above question, I will really believe that he is god, even though everyone on this website has already come to this conclusion.
Frank, why don't you just do a google search, type "Chestnut Mare", and maybe her name will come up. There's a friggin' website for everything else, so....
