I know Ricky and Benny remember it. We made quite a few discoveries that week.

Benny and I discovered a poor soul in his car who didn't make it through the night: Ricky discovered that jumping from a parkway overpass onto the Southern State parkway can cause fractures. I discovered how loud Ricky could scream when I dropped him while attempting to carry him home on my back through the snow. Barry McLean discovered that no matter how much he yelled and denied it, fractures can and do occur when one leaps from a highway overpass. 34 years ago last week. Ahhhh youth!

i remember this incident about ricky ertz. This night he attempted to jump off the bridge to see what it was like, really incredible stunt. And he was called TONS OF FUN by DOC.

Whoa ... just caught up with this thread again!

Yeah, I remember the "real" Dust coming along. The noive! So ... it WAS that snowstorm. I figured!

Your LP story is very similar to mine. I have about 500, still, but sold many ... I don't even know what I have out there [in melon crates], but there are many ... all my old Kinks records are there, I know that. Nothing to play 'em on, though!

Speaking of them ... I only have one, The Village Green Preservation Society, on CD ... are all the rest available? Particulary, I want Arthur ...

Yeah Richie I think it was the formation of Dust....little did we know what the remifications would be in the future !
btw do you remember why we had to drop the name Dust ? I do, it was because a band used that name that released an album which I ended up buying...a few years later I found out 2 of the RAMONES were in this band, I think it was Johnnie and Marky.

Rich, do you still have all your old vinal records? I have a lot of mine ( at least a few hundred, and lots of 45's too )but not all. I sold quite a few years ago, and replaced with CD's but I still have alot of the weird obscure stuff bands like Trapeze, Catfish, The Litter, Pulse ( remember them!? ) Wishbone Ash ( who currently have reformed )Same for Argent I wish I would have kept them all though because I still like playing records, there something about the warm sound of a record over a CD. A lot of bands like Pearl Jam and the Black Crowes, RadioHead, and a lot of the indie bands, release all their new stuff on vinal as well as CD's so I usually end up getting both.

Could this have been the snowstorm that allowed for the formation of Dust down there in Foch's basement? If so, broken bones weren't the worst of it, I reckon!

I really don't remember who else was there. I was sent to Linden Blvd to get powdered milk and gathered the troops to come along. I'm pretty sure that Dink was there.

Poor Ricky. Being that the roads were still closed, his dad had to pull all 200+ pounds of him on a child's sled through the side streets from Sobro Ave. to Linden Blvd to get a ride to the hospital the next day. Imagine the picture.... with small children taunting him along the way.
Even with the cast Barry continued to insist that his leg couldn't be broken.

If it wasn't for you Doc, Ricky would have been D.O.A.
I still can't explain how you could carried him more then half a mile on your back when he was almost twice your weight.

Wasn't Dink and Butch with us also? I know we had a blast but Ricky landed in a snow drift someone already hit and SNAP.
