Posted - February 16 2003 : 4:24:22 PM Doc, I remember you driving us to the supermarket in Green acres to get the peanut butter and chopmeat thaT afternoon....I think we already had the Boones Farm... Besides the actual event itself I remember the getaway in Richies Mother caddy and the greasers punding on the window wanting to kill me. Later on during the night I was taken down to Mineola ploce headquarters and they treid to charge me with inciting to riot. I have alot more memories of that night from that guy Pereitti swinging the microphone stand at me while I ducked behind the curtains to jumping off the stage in to the metel chairs after I sulted Bill Marciano and Jimmy Pizzalo along with every other faternity there that night...and the stories go on and on... Skinny Vinny wheeling me out of the gym while I sat on top of the portable piano that was there is another memory and seeing kids running down the street with pieces of my drums that Louie was playing that night is another....we were sick mothe****ers ! Posted - March 16 2003 : 9:26:18 PM Yeah, I have to admit I think I was ahead of my time and when later in the 70's all these punk bands started and even more recently with the waves of noise and garage bands I think we were really on to something back then but the public and world just wasn;t quite ready for it.. When I first saw the seen in Back to the Future where Michael J Fox goes back in time and plays his guitar at a high school dance and he is playing like Hendrix and the audicence is just staring up at the stage with looks of total amazement....I only wished they would have just looked at us up on stage that night, instead everybody wanted a piece of us...and btw Eddie thanks for trying to save our equipment that night...and you're right I was holding back, I had alot more damage planned for that night, and I'm still saving and storing ip up right not waiting for my chance to unleash it...there's a new band around now called " and you will know us by the trail of the dead" who have stole my ideas for a band...but I haven't given up yet...maybe if Michael and Karen have their reunion party this summer I can plan something to top FTW and Iggy...Eddie and Lou do you guys want in on this? I promise you won't get hurt ! - Frank |

Posted - March 16 2003 : 11:15:38 AM Sonehow, I wasnt surprised by any of it - I think Frank was holding back and could have done even more damage - that's show biz. I jst remember befin up on the stage playing tug-of-war on a mike stand with some jock and shrtly afterward, wheeling the equipment out of harm's (and theft's) way. We all split soon before the authorities got there and ran through the streets of the Valley looking for the next russ. A fun time was had by all. |

Posted - February 16 2003 : 9:56:27 PM " Four Warped individuals destroy Church " wasn't that the caption or the review of the show that appeared in the Valley Stream Mail Leader paper or some other newspaper...I swear at the polce station in Mineola that night at 4 AM they wanted to charge me with inciting to riot and then said they would reduce my plea if I gave names of known drug dealers in the area...I never did get charged with anything and I didn;t have to give any names out. My father and Uncle had to come and get me out though.
I also remeber that night knocking one of the PA speaker columns off the stage and it flatenning some kid out and all I saw was his arms and legs sticking spread eagle out with the column on top of him, I hope it was that skinny punk Peretti who was trying to decapitate me with a Microphone stand as I swung on the auditorim curtains from side to side before diving off the stage in to the metel chairs...
I swear when I see some of the old footage of Nirvanna shows on MTV it looks just like this night back in 1970 in Valley Stream, I think we were ahead of our time! |

Posted - February 16 2003 : 7:08:21 PM That frightful night haunts me still. I played briefly in a band with a musical mutant, Frank Lima (the brains of the band) as he was to lead the band through an evening of Iggy Pop –like music. The evening was, at rehearsal anyway, suppose to be a set of wacky music played with our real instruments and set two was supposed to be played with cheap inexpensive instruments for the purposes of destroying the equipment alla The Stooges. Frank, upon opening the show, thought that it would be a nifty idea to destroy the evening immediately (without any notice to the band) by first spreading peanut butter and chop meat all over the poor musicians that backed this maniac up. Frank then thought that it would a nice touch to throw the drum set into the crowd whilst screaming profanities at this Church concert. The audience didn’t quite get Frank’s artistic interpretations and read it as a deviant crazed man gone completely dangerous and hostile. Where they right? Only the New York Time’s could answer that question. “Four warped individuals destroy church concert. The Omega fraternity saved the day by putting the band down.” And put us down they did. I needed a mike stand to fight off a very hostile crowd (I retrieved it from the back of my impaled amp) Frank went from Iggy Pop to Errol Flynn swinging on the curtain ropes to avoid the mob that was going to hang him. No one bothered Arthur because he was as big as a 747. I think that was the last time I saw Jimmy, I hear he’s well. The band equipment was strewn throughout a 5 mile radius – I never saw a drum set wedged under a Buick ever again. The priest that was hosting the show that evening, I believe, lost his faith. Anyway, some of my thoughts…what do you all remember?

Posted - February 16 2003 : 4:27:49 PM and let us not forget Arthur smashing Richies Segovia Beatle Bass over my head while I had on the football helmet, he was not suppose to hit me as hard as he did, he nearly rendered my unconscience, I don't think he was supposed to use that Bass guitar either, I think we had a cheap spare one bought spcifically for that occassion but in the heat of the moment and all hell was breaking loose his use Richie's bass...is that correct?
