During a recent search on the internet I found a curious piece of information that I cannot confirm. This particular source claimed that: "One account says that he (Kanipe) was charged with desertion but aquitted by a military court." I haven't been able to find any record that Kanipe was charged with desertion. Does anyone know about this?
