Since we've veered over to a discussion of the location of some members of C troop--on another thread--when it comes to LSH, I thought I might offer the following question. The remains of several sorrel horses seemed--found in a quasi-half circle (breastworks) to the east--according to witnesses to the battlefield for the initial burials on June 27-28, 1876, an important determiner as to the location of members to Tom Custer's company, claiming that since sorrels were found at LSH, then so were members of C. My question is the following:

Were the sorrels found on/near LSH indicative of a true presence of C troop survivors--or could HQ have held a few mounts of that colour? Was C truly "attached" to HQ that day, or was it simply TWC acting as aide to his brother, leaving all other C members to Lieutenant Harrington?

Happy 130th, Gang!

Was C the only ones to have sorrel colored horses?
